Today, let’s talk about Mother Journey. Everyone knows the immense value of a mother and the respect she deserves. Yet, some people fail to understand her true worth. This is a short story inspired by my thoughts about mothers—sweet, caring, and full of concern. Let’s begin.
A mother journey is…
Yes, a mother journey is extraordinary. I am a mother too. After marriage, a woman attains the status of both a wife and a mother. I got married at the age of 20, and like most mothers, my feelings resonate with many others. A young bride steps into a new life, often setting aside her dreams and expectations. Over time, she experiences the joy of motherhood something she might not fully comprehend at first due to her young age.

After having her first child, she starts to realize the true status of a mother. Mistakes are natural; she is still young and learning. With little knowledge of life, her sole focus becomes caring for her child and her husband. In this whirlwind, she forgets herself, prioritizing her child’s well-being and happiness. Years pass by as she immerses herself in the love and care of her family. Perhaps, this is the unique nature of a mother’s love.
The Mental Struggles of a Mother
Some mothers go to extremes, dedicating their lives solely to their children. They worry constantly: What will my child eat? Is he safe? What if he gets hurt? They become their child’s bodyguard, protector, and caretaker, putting their own needs and health aside.
Amidst caring for their children, household responsibilities, and maintaining relationships, they lose themselves. Nobody asks what she wants or how she feels. She gets exhausted fulfilling countless responsibilities. Her mental health suffers, but her primary concern remains: What will happen to my children if something happens to me?
When children grow up, some even question, What was your role other than raising us? Does marriage and motherhood mean giving up your identity? Is that the only responsibility of a mother? A woman sacrifices her dreams, spends her days ensuring her child has the best life, and yet, her identity as a person is forgotten.
What About Her Dreams?
Does becoming a mother mean all dreams end? Some women dream of becoming models, doctors, or bankers. But after marriage, many dreams are abandoned. Even a simple morning walk becomes a distant wish. Sleepless nights with a baby, endless chores, and the relentless cycle of responsibilities leave her with no time for herself.
Can’t a woman pursue her aspirations even after becoming a mother? Why is she expected to let go of her individuality? Is her life limited to household chores and raising children?
Working Mother Journey

Working women juggle both professional and domestic responsibilities. Yet, why is it that men get tired after one job, but a woman is expected to manage both seamlessly? She handles her career, raises children, and maintains relationships. Isn’t she human too? Why is it assumed that child-rearing and home management are solely a woman’s responsibilities?
Why can’t a mother be supported in fulfilling her wishes?
A Mother’s Silent Plea
As I mentioned earlier, I am a mother. Perhaps all mothers silently ask the same question: Where am I? I am not just a mother; I am a person with dreams and aspirations too. Why is marriage perceived as the end of individuality? First a wife, then a mother, and then countless other roles this becomes a woman’s life.
Please, understand her. Give her time to pursue her dreams. The household chores can be shared or delegated. Men can contribute too. A woman doesn’t get a single day off, not even after countless sacrifices. She’s a human being, not a machine.
Children grow up, and life moves on, but a mother’s youth and opportunities slip away unnoticed. By the time she has the time, it’s often too late.
